Free Shipping.....Great promo and a curse! I have used it on many of my smalls for a promo but it is hard on larger items that the USPS fees vary so much on. It does help that I list my items at a top selling price and take offers so I can see how much the shipping will cost me. Any ideas for large items? It will be even more expensive on the fvf is I don't make them free shipping because I will not get my 20% discount on them.

My biggest problem with free shipping is record keeping/taxes. I have my system and spreadsheets set up with price and shipping as two distinct items. I have to wrap my head around how it will change the record keeping and taxes if I start offering free shipping.

Wow. Thanks Linda. How did I miss outright? I didn't even know it existed. I'm going to have to take a closer look at it - but it does seem like it's going to be very helpful.
Thanks again.

I think it is going to be interesting to see if eBays system works right when charging us our FVFs. Someone was already complaining that the FVFs were not working right, that they got charged 12% on the whole transaction even over $50.
I keep changing smaller items to free shipping and adjusting the price if necessary. I am looking at my larger items and trying to decide if I should, mainly because it will not charge me the FVFs on international items.

You know what Lois? I think you have something here. I have been adding free shipping to all jewelry and clothing. BIG items are just to crazy to include the shipping, so I am trying not to buy any more heavy things. Both because buyers hate shipping costs and because it is going to kill profits if shipping is high. However, I just added a pick up only Sheraton Desk. If the buyer pays the shipper and not me I don't pay eBay for shipping either. I'll let you how it works. Linda

Wow love the desk! I just read that the items that were listed before July 6 will not have the shipping FVF charged to them. I like how eBay forgot to mention that earlier............. How are you all doing? I haven't been on here much.........in AZ the temp is in the 100s and the area keeps loosing electricity.

Have you looked at the email about moreEbay changes? As usual some ok, some not so good. We're going to need a playbook to keep up!
The one that leaped out at me was no more 3 or 7 day return periods. I like the 7 day return period - I think that's plenty of time for someone to decide whether or not they want an item. Oh well, I don't make the rules, just have to play by them.
